Privacy Policy

Accounts are optional

Apex Respiratory is operated by Apex Ascend Group, LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). Everything on Apex Respiratory works without an account. You can browse every guide, reference, chart, and calculator, and nothing you type into a calculator or quiz ever leaves your browser. Creating an account is entirely optional and collects only the minimum needed to operate it.

What an account stores

If you create an account, we collect your email address and a password. The password is held only as a secure hash by our authentication provider — it is never stored or seen by us in plain text. You may optionally add a display name and a profile photo; the photo is kept in a private storage bucket visible only to you.

This account data is stored with Supabase, our backend provider, on infrastructure hosted by Amazon Web Services in the United States (us-east-1 region). We do not sell or share your information, and we do not build advertising or marketing profiles from it.

Account emails

When you have an account we send only transactional email — a signup confirmation, a password-reset link, or an email-change verification — delivered through our email provider (Resend) from an apexrespiratory.com address. There is no newsletter, no marketing email, and no mailing list.

Local storage

Features like favorites and quiz high scores are saved in your browser’s local storage on your device and are not transmitted to a server. Signing in also stores a session token in local storage (not a cookie) to keep you signed in. Clearing your browser data removes the local features and signs you out on that device. If optional cloud sync for favorites or scores is added in the future, this policy will describe it here first.

Cookies

Apex Respiratory sets no advertising or tracking cookies. Authentication uses browser local storage rather than cookies, and analytics is cookieless (below).

Analytics

This site uses privacy-respecting, cookieless web analytics to count page views and understand which resources are useful. No cross-site tracking, no advertising identifiers, and no personal profiles are created. If advertising is ever introduced, this policy will be updated first and the change noted here.

Product usage (signed-in)

If you create an account and sign in, the app records which in-app tools, quizzes, and study features you use — for example, that a calculator produced a result or a practice round was completed. These records are tied to your account to power your personal progress features and to improve the product. They never include the values you type, your answers, or any free text you write; they are never shared with third parties or used for cross-site tracking; and they are cleared when you use “Delete cloud copy” or delete your account. Signed-out visitors are not tracked this way.

Email

If you email the contact address, your message and address are used only to respond to you. They are not added to mailing lists or shared.

Deleting your data

Signing out removes the session on that device. Signed-in users can clear their synced data and usage history at any time with “Delete cloud copy” on the account page. To delete your account entirely — the authentication record, your profile, and any avatar — request it through the contact page and we will delete it promptly. Some information may be retained only where required for legal compliance or fraud prevention.

Children’s privacy

Apex Respiratory is intended for users who are 13 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.
