About this quiz

Each round shows a PaO₂ and the FiO₂ it was drawn on — divide to get the P/F ratio, then read the Berlin band on PEEP/CPAP ≥ 5: above 300 is not ARDS, 201–300 mild, 101–200 moderate, and 100 or below severe. The full Berlin definition also needs bilateral opacities not fully explained by cardiac failure or fluid overload.

Educational use only. Panels are generated for exam practice and classify by the P/F ratio alone; the full Berlin definition also weighs timing, imaging, and the exclusion of cardiogenic edema. This material supports respiratory therapy education and exam review. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for clinical judgment, institutional protocols, or physician orders. Always follow facility policies and current provider orders, and verify calculations independently before clinical use.
